Lech beer. It’s pretty crappy Polish beer, but I like my crappy pale lagers and it has little bumps on the sides so you don't drop it when you get really drunk. But now I'm out, so it's either Tsingtao or gin.

I don’t get out that way much anymore. It's been a long time since I've seen that name.

For whatever reason, it seems like every liquor store around me has started stocking Polish beer. There's even this one with a little sticker on the can that turns blue when it's chilled; like a mood ring for beer.

I’ve one Newcastle Brown ale, two Marstons Pedigree and three Old Speckled Hen left so I think I’ll have an Owld Speckled Un.

That’s the most British thing I’ve heard all day.
It’s been too long. I really need to make a point of making it back over.

Nice! This is why I have a mug at my local. The owners are beer geeks.

British and absolutely proud of it. Huzzah.
The Old Speckled Hen because of it’s automotive connection and because OPPO.

I lived and worked in Cardiff, Maidstone and London for a while. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there. Between that and my unhealthy obsession with Brisitsh Leyland and Python, I maintain that I was born on the wrong end of the Atlantic. Any chance you're up by Norwich?

Nowhere near Norwich. I’m 280 miles away. I’m up in Carlisle (head straight up the M6 motorway, if you reach Scotland, you’ve over shot me by 10 miles).

The town with which I share a surname is up that way. I’ve always been curious about the area, but I’ve never had the opportunity to visit.

You can’t leave it like that. What’s the place called?
It’s not Cockermouth is it? or Cockup which is flanked by the hills Little Cockup and Great Cockup.

I like the scotch part. I’ve got some Laphroaig around here somewhere. I usually save it for winter, but the A/C is on tonight...

I normally just drink good scotch (usually Macallan) neat, but Trader Joes had this bullshit stuff for $6 and it’s summer in Phoenix, so I mixed it.

I usually aim for Talisker or Lagavulin, but I had the opportunity to pick up a trader joes single malt last year in St. Louis. It was pretty good for the price- $20 for something that reminded me of a slightly green Glenlivet.
